i'm about six weeks or so into my adventures with double edge razors. Started with a Pearl OC which i really like, and although the blade exposure is gnarly i'm yet to have any misadventures with it or any other razor.
A couple of weeks ago i picked up a lot of vintage razors, including a Tech, a very very light TTO (Gillette rocket or something) and a Wilkinson Sticky that i became very enamored with when i read about its history.
My question is regarding the Wilkinson. I've used it twice now. The first time it seemed fine and i got a decent "i'm still learning this" shave (bbs in parts, mild irritation in others). The second time i found that it didn't seem to be doing anything... just barely cutting any hair. No matter the angle i tried i could barely get it to take any hair off and i gave up and finished up with the Tech which seems to give me a very close shave no matter how careless i am with it.
Can anyone shed any light on what i may be doing wrong with the Wilkie? Really wanted to like it...
