I expect that there will be little agreement on overrated, but maybe there will be some broad consensus on underrated. Here are my picks:
Most Overrated: Mitchell's Wool Fat - many other soaps are easier to lather, produce more consistent results and do just as good a job of post shave conditioning.
Most Underrated: Pre de Provence - you will rarely, if ever, hear a bad word about it, but it doesn't get mentioned all that often either. With the exception of Tabac (which gets mentioned very often and which has a fragrance that can be off-putting to some), I have not found any soap that outperforms Pre de Provence.
