Newb Blade Question

I am new to blade/wet shaving and practicing the one blade at a time test. Giving a blade a week's worth (3-4) of shaves before moving to the next. Thus far (second week) I have used the BIC Chrome Platinum and now on third day of the Feather.

So far, I can tell that the Feather is sharper than the BIC seemed. Beyond that however, I am not sure I have seen much difference. Of course, I am still learning my different (many ) beard grain directions and usually doing but a 2 pass (with some touch up).

So, my question (which sounds even stupid to me) is: how will I know when I have found the best blade for me?

So far, all I know is my nicks have been few and I have not yet bled out. The Feather may be giving me a cleaner shave, but not really sure. And, both have been doing an irritation job on my neck.
