Greetings,
As I indicated before in a past thread - my full head of hair that used to be thick and now is thin/fine due to what I assume is age and the fact that I have grey hair, which turns thinner compared to hair with natural color.
I also know that since it's the fall/soon to be winter - people tend to shed more hair as hair gets dry, etc. 50 to 150 hairs a day is normal, etc. However I have noticed that my hair breaks very easily recently and while my hair isn't falling out excessively in the shower or on my pillow, it's falling out more noticeably.
For example, I will be working on my computer and a loose strand of grey hair will fall in my face. I will brush my hair and have a couple of strands of grey hair, etc. I just notice the shedding more, even though it's still just a couple of hairs here and there. It just seems more frequent - however I still have a full head of hair. It's not like there are bald patches or anything.
So if my hair is damaged due to breakage - is it just the hair that is weak due to breaking that is falling out or is it potentially something more serious. I am going to get my haircut this week, so hopefully that helps with getting rid of any damaged or loose hair.
Is there anything that you can recommend to help with hair breaking/shedding? I read some good reviews for OGX Anti-Hair Fallout Niacin3 & Caffeine Shampoo.
The product claims:
Stimulate your scalp with OGX Anti-Hair Fallout Niacin3 + Caffeine Shampoo, a powerful blend of niacin3 + caffeine, AlphaHydroxy Acid & natural DHT blocker, to encourage a healthy scalp environment and help prevent hair fallout caused by breakage. Combat hair fall out with this balancing blend to help give your strands the strength they need to stand their ground against daily damage and breakage.
Anyone try this?
I have also read from people to use a leave in conditioner or oil spray to strengthen hair, don't use a towel to dry your hair because friction causes hair damage and I see people mention that Nizoral shampoo is also good to use - this is essentially an antifungal treatment, which some studies claim slows down hair loss due to the ketoconazole ingredient.
I would greatly appreciate any feedback from people who have experienced the same sort of thing.
Thanks!
