Got this new Chubby 2 Manchurian Badger in Faux Tortoise this past week. I live in midwest USA. As most of us would have to do, I ordered directly from the Simpson web site for this limited edition. After the obliged 10 day delivery wait, I emailed Simpson to inquire about the delivery status; the brush was a no show!
I received a very quick response from Mark Watterson explaining that he tracked the brush and it had been lost to the island nation of Malto! Without delay or further quagmire, he dispatched a new one from remaining stock and sent it to me via Fedex with no added shipping charge, and added a "can" of Simpson shave cream as a bonus. He provided tracking so I could enjoy watching the shipping journey of the new brush all the way to my door. I must say that the customer service was first class all the way. I would not hesitate to order from Simpson again. If they ever have another butterscotch Chubby run I am in all the way!
On to the brush. I have used it twice so it is still breaking in. What I can say is that it feels just as comfortable as my other Chubby brushes with Super Badger hair. It also seems to release the lather just a bit easier than the Chubby Supers as well. Though as we all know, getting the Chubby to yield it's lather, before it consumes too much product, is a skill set (various manual methods of carefully pinching the knot to give up the lather) that must be learned.
So far, this brush has not lost my attention. It feels good, works extremely well and looks good on the counter. And made by a company that you can have faith in for quality craftsmanship and customer service.
