First Shave With Merkur Futur

I got this thing in a trade, and it is indeed fierce looking with that gaping blade chasm.

But I figured,shucks, it's just a razor, so I put in a brand new Gillette Black,cranked it open to 4, and commenced shaving after lathering up with the Captain's North soap..

Much, MUCH smoother than the R41.

It was an epic shave, BBS in three passes with no blood and no discomfort and almost zero feedback from the Skin Bracer.

No sting from the aftershave is extremely rare for me. It is usually minimal but noticeable. Today there was almost none.

It felt a little big and unwieldy, but the shave was awesome.

I think I might like this big awkward beast.
