Happy Civic holiday to my fellow Canadians give or take Nova Scotia and Manitoba.
In Toronto it is known as Simcoe Day, named after the first Lieutenant-Governor of Upper Canada and the promulgator of the Act Against Slavery. Each city has the option of naming this day. For instance in Ottawa it is named "Colonel By Day" after the military engineer who oversaw the building of the Rideau Canal and the founding of Bytown that eventually became Ottawa.
A nice day to brush up on some Canadian history and perhaps, as I'm planning to do, BBQ some chicken.
