[A little while back, I started this thread, http://ift.tt/29iuXwg ,to ask about Fine Snake Bite. It came about a week ago, and I've been testing it out all week. Here are my thoughts.]
I was looking for a simple, unscented aftershave with a strong menthol chill, and Fine Snake Bite is definitely that. The ingredients are water, alcohol, and menthol. That's it. Just by smelling the aftershave in the bottle I could tell it was going to have a good menthol kick. I could smell the menthol.
Putting it on, there is some alcohol burn, but nothing unusual. Then menthol chill starts to come in. At first it feels no colder than Aqua Velva, but then my eyes start to water a little. Before I know it, it feels as cold as Osage Rub, and continues to build a bit past that. By time I am out of the bathroom, the scent is pretty much gone, but the cold feeling on my face stays strong. I would say it lasts at full strength for a good ten minutes, and stays noticeable for almost a half an hour. That's the novelty of Snake Bite for me - the menthol chill, while it might not be too much colder than Osage Rub, lasts and lasts.
In terms of skincare, Snake Bite cleans and fights razor burn like any other alcohol based aftershave would. It does nothing in the way of moisturizing, but I can't say that it really dries out my skin too much either.
Bottom line, Fine Snake Bite is a simple, effective aftershave with a great menthol chill that lasts long. I would class it as a "fun" aftershave, and I'm glad I bought it.
