Is it me, or is it the Mongoose?

Hey guys. Longtime member here, but a rare poster. I recently got a black Alumigoose from Straight Razor Designs, and I've been having some issues.

I can't seem to get a close shave with this razor. I've tried both Feather Professional and Super Professional Blades. I had understood this was supposed to be an aggressive razor but I can literally push it into my face without cutting myself and still not end up with a very close shave.

I have a plethora of DE razors, and also a GEM single edge razor that all work beautifully.

I have tried adjusting the angle, different soaps, different blades, and I am just at a loss.

Could there be something wrong with the blade gap on my razor or is this just how it performs?
