We used special sort of Ebony Wood - Diospyros crassiflora. It`s hard and durable wood with very fine pores, polished in a way that helps to ideally resist moisture.
Heartwood from this tree was and still is in extremely high demand since Ancient Egypt. In fact, only the most richest Egyptians could afford goods, made of this Wood.
Likewise, nowadays Ebony remains a Luxury, its price is more than reasonable for both exceptional dark appearance and excellent water resistance.
Razor Blade (5/8 inch) is made by Thiers Issard of high-quality carbon steel - Silverwing C135, which means incredible sharpness, hardness of 65 based on Rockwell scale and at the same time easiness in sharpening.
Definition ?Singing? comes thanks to additional treatment and signifies extra hollow ground of the cutting edge, which makes Razor flexible and gives a subtle ringing sound during shaving.
