Reading the other post about Talon grips got me to thinking..always a dicey situation,
I have always looked at pistols such as the ones discussed in the aforementioned post as strictly defensive weapons. If needed to neutralize a life-threatening situation, I work on the philosophy that it's all gonna be over with in a matter of seconds and 2-3 rounds fired at most; good chance at least one of those shots may come from the hip. Taking all the time needed to get comfy with a nice grip and going through the whole front/rear sight alignment drill isn't what these are going to be used for by me. I have other pistols for those applications.
Like most things of this nature...it really boils down to what the individual wants, likes, and/or believes they "need" when it comes to setting up an EDC-defensive firearm. Sadly..many people are convinced by "You Tube Ninjas" and their ilk, that once purchasing a firearm, it MUST be churched-up with half the aftermarket items currently found in the Brownell's catalog. No worries really; as long as the end-game turns out to be exactly what it should be if the individual gets involved in an unfortunate situation (all shootings are unfortunate..hopefully necessary, but always unfortunate).
Point being...money spent on practice and training is a better investment than the same funds spent on most (not all-most) aftermarket acessories for an EDC-defensive firearm.
Target pistols?? Sporting firearms?? Whole different story.
