Yo,
Looking to get a silvertip but for south of $100. I have really had my eye on the razorock chubby extra silvertip, even though it is not reviewed or spoken about much. I have my eye on this for three large reasons, 1) It is a silvertip for under $100 2) It is made by razorock (whom I think produce quality products for great prices) 3) The handle looks amazing. That being said I do not have any experience with silvertips so that is why I am posting this. I have a few questions. Also, I am looking at the wooden handles, not plastic.
1) What are the advantages/disadvantages of the two woods (cherry or olive wood), or which one is better or will last longer?
2) Why does one version have a metal ring around the base of the knot? Personally, I could care less if it had or did not have a ring, I just want to get the one that will be the best quality and have the longest life. Any advantage/disadvantage to the metal ring?
3) Lastly, I am assuming this is the same knot in all four brushes, just different handles?
P.S.- I am not opposed to getting a different silvertip as long as it is along this price range give or take $20. So feel free to give your personal recommendations on an inexpensive silvertip as well! Would love to hear what you guys think!
