Greetings GEM Fans! I am an infrequent visitor to this side of the tracks being a vintage DE guy. I have a Schick, GEMM MMOC, and a G-Bar and occasionally give one a go for variety. I'm certain my inexperience with these adds to the challenge of getting a good shave.
Today I decided to give the G-Bar a run. I used lots of care and sure had to pay attention to blade angle. I'm using the GEM stainless coated blades. I went with my "gold standard" Tabac soap for a great lather. I got a decent shave and no nicks but it seemed to take a great deal of effort to get a close shave. Is this to be expected with this particular razor and blade or is it I am being to light-handed? Any advice I should keep in mind? Thank you!
