Just bought this AR instead of the AR-10. Need a scope in the Vortex family. Is the 4-12x44 to much ? I want to shoot out to 200 to 400 yards. I wanted a AR platform rifle and decided this fits what I wanted. I have also looked at a Nikon P-223 3-9x40 and a Nikon 4-12x 40 BDC 600. I don't want to spend a whole lot on a scope, want something in the middle-of -the road. Don't want a red dot, this is more of a bench shooter, not really a long range gun. More or less just a plinker that my wife and daughter will shoot at a decent distance for fun. So, recommend me a scope or which one of the 2 mentioned, or push me in the right direction of what you think I should buy.
