Hello
Lurking member / newbie here.
I have read a lot of topics on razor burn and there are many helpful suggestions.
What I just wanted to check, is that when people are talking about this do they mean 'symptoms' like in the picture below (taken right after a shave)?
- Raised, red bumps on skin
- Red patches (from previous raised bumps?)
- Increased nicks from raised bumps
- Heat / stinging when applying moisturiser (Proraso sensitive or Simple/Nivea sensitive)
- Dont seem to be 'ingrown' hairs
This is really bumming me out as I do a lot of public speaking for my job and it seems to be very noticeable as I'm pale as hell. I am in my mid 30s and have skin worse than when I was a teenager / early 20s haha.
My current shave is Proraso sensitive soap, Merkur 35 DE, Gilette 7 o Clock sharpedge, synthetic brush, moisturise. Always with the grain. Have been doing so for around a year.
The problem is that when I then need to leave it a few days before shaving again, it gets worse as the hair is coarser and longer so even with a fresh blade it 'tugs'. So it becomes a vicious-circle.
Any comments or solutions welcome on where to go from here. Stop using a DE? Change soap? Better brush? Better technique?
Even thinking of going back to a beard trimmer and just having stubble, but then this isn't ideal for my job either.
I'm pretty sure I never had this issue with a Mach 3 disposable / Mach 3 gel combo!
Many thanks
