In a recent bout of BAD, I acquired two brushes. One was a L'Occitane Plisson that I posted about earlier and one was my first Vulfix brush.
To be specific, the Vulfix #20 in boar. My experience with boar brushes has been the Omega 80265 and Semogue 1305, so a pretty darn good experience I'd say.
This brush was different from both of the other two. First of all, no dyed band. I like the blonde boar hair, but I have no aversion the dyed either. The second and probably most significant thing is the size difference, namely that the Vulfix is considerably smaller than either the Omega or Semogue.
The shave I got with the Vulfix is what I would call 'sufficient'. Still being in the break-in period I treated it a little more kindly than regular usage, so that may have something to do with it. It loaded RazoRock XXX easily enough, felt soft on my face, but just didn't provide the amount of lather that I'm used to. Sure, I got enough for a two pass shave, but the brush was totally depleted after pulling the lather out for the last pass.
So what is my conclusion? It's an attractive, reasonably priced, well-made, and soft tipped boar brush. Hopefully it'll get better as I use it, because at this point it seems like it might be a bit on the small side for my oversized face.
