Wow! Simply wow! I initially had the Parker 96r, and thought that even if my shaves were far better than disposable's razor, I would still get an awful lot of razor burn. I still enjoyed my shaves though. However, because shaving has become a hobby (just like the majority of you, gents ), I wanted to begin a collection of safety razors so I ordered the de89 through Amazon (plus a Omega pro 49 boar brush ).
Long story short, let's just say that the parker had some quality issues, as one side of the blade was sticking out at a 60 degree while the other at a 30 degree, resulting in a more ''agressive'' shave while using one side of the razor.
I feel like a new man now ; I've fallen in love again with de shaving because of the de89. It gave me such a smooth shave - no redness, no nicks, nothing-. I've used it with my Astra SP and williams mug. Sure, there was a little more fidgeting as I needed to pass my fingers on my alum block to have a solid grip on it, but it didn't bother me at all.
Overall, I'm more than satisfied with the de89 (and the Omega pro 49 brush! ) ,and will cherish it until I can't shave anymore.
