For me an aftershaves primary purpose (both splash or balm) is to repair my skin after a shave, sometimes I need this ability to a greater or lesser degree. Of all the ones I have tried the only real skin healers I have found are Speick (Splash and balm), Clinique (balm) and Kramperts Frostbite (Splash), in that order of effectiveness. Some others are not too bad (Proraso green splash and Floid blue) but they certainly don't heal as well as the others I listed for me. I also like some cooling effect from an aftershave splash, certainly found in the Frostbite! The only problem with all of the above is that none of them have what you would call a fresh modern scent, I am thinking of something aquatic similar to an Issey or Bvlgari, which are my usual daytime preferences. I travel extensively so I want to keep things to an absolute minimum ( yes I realise I coukd just spray on some EDT after using one of the above) so my wish list for aftershave nirvana would include all of the following:
- great healing properties (like Speick)
- cooling menthol content (like frostbite)
- both splash and balm versions
- modern aquatic fragrance ( eg Bvlgari Aqva)
