Shameless plug for QCS Basilica balm

With winter basically upon us. I like many here have rotated in soaps that compliment the season. Winter also brings in dry chapped skin for those of us that literally face the elements every day. During winter months I enjoy the earthy soaps like Hallows, Petrichor, and Roam. Alot of the soaps I have dont have matching ASLs or balms for, like Tabac, Celestial woods, and Proraso Red. The one item I always seem to reach for after my shave this winter is the Basilica balm. It seems to be the perfect blend of smokey, shadowy, spice that always seems to blend well with my winter soaps. I will admit it seems a bit greasy upon initial application but it dissipates slowly within the hour. Moderation is the key here. (no more than one pump for the entire face/neck)



I have even applied it directly over the top of my Family Dollar OS ASL, but they seems to clash at first and the Basilica drowns it out almost immediatly. It is quickly becoming my stand alone aftershave product. It is on par with my Spanish Bathhouse Fig and Nutmeg balm, but the Basilica seems to be much more universal and readily avalable than the Fig and Nutmeg. Some folks dont like using one product line with another. For me, mixing and matching to find the perfect pairing on a limited budget is fun.



The other sad fact is I have yet to use the Basilica soap I bought with it. With the soaps I mentioned above, I havent had an opportunity to focus soley on it yet.



I recommend Basilica balm for any of you fellas that enjoy these dark earthy soaps like I mentioned above. They pair heavenly.
