Hello from a newbie both to DE shaving and to Badger and Blade. I'm about a week and a half into the DE journey and enjoying it thoroughly without major mishap (so far) :thumbup1:. I decided to begin DE shaving because my stash of cartridges was almost depleted and I refused to shell out $$$$$ again. So here I am and thrilled. If my motive to start was financial, my motive to continue and "perfect" it is passion...the wife loves the face on DE! Not to mention that I'm enjoying shaving for the first time in my life.
My gear to get started are an Omega boar hair brush and Edwin Jagger DE89 razor and a lather bowl. My blade...ahhhh, the hunt for a blade. I ordered a sample pack and quickly realized that jumping from blade to blade was causing problems in learning good technique. So I've settled on Astra SP for a while to work on my method. Just today, I actually got quite a smooth shave around my chin and jaw line which was quite encouraging.
I did lots of research in getting started and am so grateful to the many contributors here who helped along the way. Thanks for all the wonderful advice from the experienced folks out there. I've learned loads and look forward to continuing to benefit from your experience!
