I seem to have the same trouble with every razor I hone, during the bevel setting and throughout the progression I seem to have to use excessive rolling x-strokes in order to hit the heel and the toe. Could it be too much pressure during the bevel setting phase? Most of the razors I hone have more or less a smile, is it normal to always have to use a rolling x-stroke on smiling razors?
Is there any way to "fix" a razor so I do not need to do the rolling x-stroke?
Thankful for replies

If I constantly miss the heel and the toe, what am I doing wrong?
