I have my dad's old Dorko 730 and it's a great razor but somewhere along the way pop broke the scales. I replaced them with a set I got from a rusty old C-Mon at a local flea market and it works fine but I'm sentimental about it and I'd like to restore the razor to original. My first problem is I can find only three pictures of 730s on the net and they all have different scales!
I seem to remember them being black with a red diamond inlaid with the DORKO logo but I'm not certain. As for a date of manufacture, it predates me and I first drew breath towards the end of the Truman administration. I'm wondering if they varied enough that any original Dorko scale design such as the crossed Dorkos in a circle or the inlaid script would be appropriate for my heirloom 730. Even with this latitude however, I am faced with the disagreeable task of locating a set.
Does anyone have a pic of an original 730 (or, dare I hope, own one with restorable scales but a beyond redemption blade languishing in a drawer or cabinet)?
