Yesterday I had a somewhat disappointing experience.
I was going to try my WWII Tech for the first time.
I did what I always do: Shower and shave oil. Then I really worked with my lather. I followed advice I've gotten about my lathering: Swirl the brush, don't whip it, make sure there's enogh water, don't start applying until the lather is "shiny" and youghurty...
I then loaded with an Astra Super Platinum and started shaving.
I almost immediately felt that something was wrong: The head didn't glide over the skin as effortlessly as it should. There was definitely some friction.
I relathered and tried again. Same result. Then I tried rinsing off, apply more oil then lather up again. No change.
I recently cleaned and polished the razor. Could that be a reason? I never had that problem with my '75 Slim, '74 SS , 50's Parat or the R89.
What normally is a comfortable an relaxing activity became a very stressful one. Any tips, guys?
