I've been using DE shaving for about a month. So today I decided to forego my regular Merkur 34c in lieu of a Vintage Gillette SS flare tip that I got off of BST. So I loaded it up with a yellow gillette 7 o'clock blade (first time I used one of those too) and WOW. I can't believe how great the shave was!!! It was amazing!! I'm not sure if it was the razor or the blade, but it was an incredibly comfortable and close shave. Of course since it was the first run with both the razor and the blade, I'm not sure which is responsible. But dang---- I just can't get over how much better this shave was than with my other setup.
But I definitely plan on a repeat trial tomorrow or Saturday to see if it was just luck or if this is a reproducible 'wow' moment.
