I recently received a Weber razor. When it arrived yesterday, the blade guard was warped and I am waiting to hear back from them. I decided I wanted to use the razor, and really like the shaves I get from my R89, so I replaced the top cap of this razor with the Weber cap. The resulting shave was similar to the R89 but slightly more aggressive, but less aggressive than my old DLC Weber. I tried to see if anyone else had tried this, but could only find people replacing the cap of the R41. What surprises me is that this has not been considered for those that are concerned about the longevity of their EJ/Muhle razors. This way they can maintain a similar shaving experience, but have a razor that won't corrode, as all the problems I have seen with Zinc razors happen to be in the top cap. Anyone else tried this combination?
