Not an April Fools post.
After a less than stellar shave, do you ever wonder if it's all worth it? I just tried out my new to me pre war tech and I'll be honest, I may not have been as slow and methodical as I usually am, and I may not have built the best lather (arko + williams), but I bled like mad. 3 bleederd over all. I know the pre war tech was a bit more aggressive than its tech brother, but I don't think it could be attributed to that, as you see I've got an R41 2013 and know my way around a more aggressive shave. So after being hacked and having some irritation, I put the razor down and started cleaning up. I looked at my face, then looked at my razors and just thought... Why? I know this bad shave was my fault, (shaved at 36 hours instead of 48, no shower beforehand, no hot towel, lather on the thin side, was a bit quick) but still, it's disheartening ya know? Just kind of a bummer, but of course I'm going to stick with it because on the good days it's magical. Here's some of my wares, all of my razors, 1 of my many soaps, witch hazel, Nivea sensitive, semogue 610 (used today), SOC boar. R41 2013, Gillette old type OC (?), Gillette pre war tech, Gillette SS, Gillette Travel Tech (1st DE), Gillette Tuckaway, Gold Dollar #100, Boker King Cutter with some serious hone wear.
Edit: meant to make a post about this a while ago but never got around to it. Has anyone ever noticed that the Dickinson's emblem is a single edge razor blade? I was oblivious for a couple uses.
