I'll make this question simple. Here is what I am working with:
kamado Joe
BBQ guru dx2
both maverick and BBQ guru meat and grill thermometer
9.5 LB butt
first 7-8 hours went perfect at 220 degrees. Both the smoker and guru were reading similar pit temps. For the past 3 hours I am getting a 50 degree difference in the cooker and guru (guru being the higher). Which do I trust? I would hope the guru, as it was 300 bucks.
I have done other butts, so I am familiar with stall temps, but almost 3 hours at 165-169 stall. Is this normal?
