Recently on two ebay bids i received items that did not look at all like what was pictured.
The first one looked like a gold tone superspeed and the reply i got from the seller was:
"I don't understand what you see as a problem as the pictures that you took and sent with your message are displayed right along side of my main picture and they look identical in color. I have looked at the pictures on my listing and the only problem that I could see was that the close ups of the Gillette logo on the head are a little off in color for some reason but the entire razor is silver in color like the two pictures of the entire razor. Angle of light and background reflections make taking pictures of silver items tricky. If it had been gold tone we would have stated that in our description as they are kind of rare. Hope this answers your question"

The second one i did not even bother contacting the seller

Though buyer beware is the motto when buying online. i thought this was particularly dishonest where sellers put caveats like "ask questions before buying" "pictures are a part of the description" "sold as is with no returns" while at the same time putting up patently misleading pictures.
Having vented, this makes me feel good!!
