Since there are regular threads that pop up regarding "which replater to use", I thought I'd post this. In short, I'm putting my money where my mouth is.
My 4 favorite razors (Fatboy, Slim, Gem Junior with art deco ornate handle, and a Canadian 1932 triangular slotted Tech head with an English spiraled travel Tech handle) are heading to onotoman/RestoredRazors as I type. Gold, gold, gold, and, for the fourth . . . oh yeah, gold. :001_tongu
I was planning on taking "before pics" to compare with the after ones, but since I wanted to get them shipped out I skipped that step.
Here's hoping that British Mail doesn't muck things up. I actually didn't insure them, as with any insurance the price was $100+ which is pushing into "razor replacement cost" territory. I'm hoping that I don't regret that . . . Actually, now that I think about it, I probably should have gone for FedEx. I think that things will be ok, though. Hopefully!
In the meantime, I get to pick from my backup Slim/Tech and a few others. It's going to be a long month or two (or three?) . . .
Fortunately, I have 2 boxes of Girl Scout cookies (mint and shortbread) to assuage my temporary loss. I also need to get a box of the peanut butter/chocolate ones . . .
