...as well as Voskhod, Personna Reds and any other of the "popular" blades I see coming up in the forums all the time.
I've tried a multitude of the more "inexpensive" blades and have definitely seen the difference between them. Currently, my top blade are (which I know a lot of people here think are overrated) Feathers. It's sharp, pretty smooth and I get a really good shave out of them. They are also on the cheaper side being about $26 on for 100. That being said, I'm curious why the above brands are mentioned so often on here.
I have no problem upgrading and trying something new, but I obviously don't want to commit to purchasing a full 100 pack before I find out if they're actually worth it. I've got a few of them coming from the Great Blade Exchange to try, but a lot of the MOST popular ones never seem to be in stock.
So if you have experience with and really like a certain blade, please tell me why. I've read a lot on the Safety razor review page, but again, it doesn't tell me why these blades are coming up time and time again here...especially when there are a lot of blades that rate HIGHER than those on there.
The first 100 pack I bought were Derbys, and while I can't say I sincerely regret the purchase (since they were only $7 at the time), I really, really do NOT enjoy them. I've also tried Dorco 301s, Gillete 7'oclock green, Gillete Super Platinums, Astra SPs, Personna Blue, Wilkonson Sword, Personna labs, Bic chrome, Bluebird, and Shark Super Chromes with the Sharks being my 2nd favorite.
I know now everyone's face/beard/taste is different, but I am truly curious about these brands.
And lastly, a member on another forum is selling Vintage Polisilvers (not SIs) at what I feel is a pretty steep price....can anyone chime in on these?
