Really happy with what I accomplished. A friend gave me an Ever Ready C40 brush, he won it along with an old spice mug but didn't want the brush. It was missing most of the hairs, and the plastic was pretty dull. I pulled most of the hair out and milled the knot out using a dremel with cylinder shaped rasp bit. The knot came from Larry at Whipped Dog, he offered some great advice on the different loft settings and ways to fill the hollow cavity of the brush handle. The knot is a 22mm silver tip, the hole in the handle had to be enlarged to allow the lamp sized knot. Also have to thank blzrfn for the idea to use a hot glue gun to find the cavity and to adhere the knot into the handle, it feels pretty solid. The knot was set 15mm into the handle making the loft just at 50mm, which it is a bit shorter than the brush Larry made for me. I have used this brush a couple times already and am really pleased with how it lathers, I grown to like face lathering and the brush really does a great job, cannot wait for it to break in like my first brush from Larry.
Here it is with a Gillette New SC, and old spice cream and aftershave (first shave with the brush)
Here it is with a new 22mm silver tip that Larry at Whipped Dog made for me, black and silver marbled handle
