Hey FP folks,
I am trying to decide on my next FP. My starter pens are the Pilot Metropolitan in Medium (really like it), Kaweco Sport Ice Blue in Fine (also really like it), Lamy Safari in EF (don't like it, nib probably needs work but not worth shipping and paying for adjustment on a $25 pen).
I got a TWSBI 580 in Medium for Christmas and it is fantastic. I can definitely feel the difference from the starter pens. It is my go-to pen here at the house. For work, I stick with the Metro and Sport.
Having had such a good experience with the Metro, I think I would like to try a Japanese fine point, hopefully a Pilot but that's not set in stone. What is the next step up as far as quality pens from Pilot? One day I am sure I will get a Vanishing Point, but I'm just not into the clip placement. Do I look to the Namiki line?
I tend not to post, except for the Kaweco of course. One of the things that appeals to me about the 580 and the Metro is the hefty weight when compared to the Sport and Safari. Also, I am partial to silver-colored trim on a pen, if that matters. So rhodium, etc. would be great.
Appreciate any advice!
