So i tried a derby extra that came with my razorock DE1 in my rockwell on R3 and got BBS in 3 passes flat, no cleanup. Wow, i found my go to blade i thought as i price checked them and did the happy dance to find out they were one of the top 3 cheapest blades battling it out with dorco st-300 and Gillette Wilkinson Sword for the cheapest price. So i ordered a hundred of them.
When they came in they were in a sleeve like the ones for astra SP blades. I removed the front perforated section and went to pull out a tuck and noticed some tugging. I opened the box from the end and discovered several tuck's wrappers were connected to other tucks. I thought that was strange but dismissed it. Then i discovered when i tossed a couple tucks in my medicine cabinet that the green insert on the ones i ordered was lighter, the, plastic tucks were different, and even the lines above and below where it says "derby extra" were cocked at an angle on every one of these new packs I'd just received.
I haven't used one yet, and probably won't for a couple weeks as I'm trying to use up a current surplus of assorted blades, but... Is this normal?
I've seen the blue 10 packs the green packs with the green card insert sideways but i thought "dang how many different packages are they gonna have for one blade?!" In the pic, the tuck on the right are ones that came with a razorock teck II and the ones on the left are the ones i ordered. The angle of the white lines and "derby extra" aren't as noticable in this pick but it does show the difference in the plastic container at the bottom of the packaging where the card can't help but slip out.
Derby extra users, what's up with this?
