Springfield Armory Saint

Although I own and can operate an AR platform rifle in a most competent fashion, it appears my "detailed and technical knowledge" regarding the ordnance is lacking..seems I just am not interested in all that. A well made rifle which is accurate and dependable; one that is not sick expensive and will last for the next 15-20 years or so with occasional use fits my bill just fine. Someone likened the AR "tactical custom" crowd to the Harley crew who have 2/3 of the Drag Specialties catalog inventory bolted on their "Mega-Glide" before it le leaves the showroom. In 2-3 years, after the bike
has logged 3-5,000 miles, it is time to trade for a new one and start all over again. I am very familiar with the phenomenon.

I run my bikes like my firearms....pretty much box stock and set them up for how I plan to use them in the real world. Bought a 1988 BMW R100RS which I rode all over the US, Mexico, and Canada. Put 100,700+ miles on that bike. Biggest modifications were larger saddlebage. My current Harley Street Glide also gets some highway love (nowhere near that logged on the r100, but enough). Mechanically Box stock except for grips, a different seat, and a taller windshield, it's just as it was coming off the line in York.

So...point is? What do you AR fans think of the Springfield Saint? Does it have the correct stuff? Is it a better choice than most of the other ordnance in that price range considering it isn't going to Afghanistan or even in a tree stand (5.56 just is not the best deer cartridge in my opinion). I'm once more looking for a ready to go, out of the box, don't wanna build it, rifle which the collective wisdom respect as more than an entry-level lightweight casual use AR rifle which does not melt my Visa card. Thanks.....
