When/why was this hybrid Aristocrat produced

Hello,

this ebay goodie looks to be gen 2 British Aristocrat handle mated with a post 1948 US Aristocrat/President head. If it's Rhodium plated I really can't figure out what it is, as I think only the British company used Rhodium. It looks like a US head supplied to the British but then marketed in the US?
