Scale Question

I picked up a real nice W.R. Case Real Red Point. The blade is great, but the scales are just a bit messed up.

My question is basically, can I heat, bend, tweak, etc... these scales or should I just re-scale it? I like the scales, but with them like this the pivot pin torques and the blade moves a bit when closing, so I have to be very careful to not catch the scale on the edge during close.
