I'm not an expert, but when loading off the puck, I like to let it dry before closing it up. Excess water can soften the soap (which can be good or bad in your eyes!).
I molded my haslinger into a bowl by putting some water on it for a day or so - it softened right up!
My Proraso got too soft early in my wetshaving experience due to leaving too much moisture in the closed container - leaving it open for a couple days fixed this...
