So my buddy shaver_dan just gave me a Schick Krona at work the other day. I tried it for the first time last night, and I'm in love with it instantly. Looking at the blade gap, it seems to be close to a 9 on a Slim. Maybe 8 or 7, but it doesn't feel that aggressive at all. It does, however, plow right thru my facial hair. Something about the small difference in head design makes it ridiculously smooth for me. I am very pleasantly surprised by it, and I couldn't be happier with it, except...
One thing that concerns me about it is its plastic handle. It seems sturdy enough, but I'm about as clumsy as they come. I'd feel a lot better about it if it had a metal handle. So, here's my question. Has anybody ever attempted to mount the head onto a different handle? Is such a thing even possible without being a completely one-off custom job?
Also... it's a shame that Schick never made any other DE razors. I wish there were an adjustable version of this thing.
