Over the last year and change I've managed to develop quite a good shaving technique, many thanks to the fine members here. I've been trying sleeper blades lately and the results always seem to be the same - dfs every time. I get great shaves from Bic, Croma, Merkur, Treet, and many others that aren't at the top of most of our favorites list. It seems to me 90% of the blades out there yield a dfs+ with proper prep, lather, and technique. The remaining 10% are either total garbage (Crystal, Grafco) or stellar (Polsilver) depending not only one one's beard/skin combo but also the razor being used. I'm quite certain if given 25 different blades to try I'd get a great irritation free dfs+ from 24 of them. Longevity may not be the same, but the useful life of each blade would yield relatively the same results. Any thoughts? Do you agree or disagree? Am I completely nuts?
Does the blade REALLY matter?
