My father in law is 62 and has had to use scentless products his entire life due to sensitive skin. Last year for Christmas, I got him a Baili TTO and some scentless TOBS with a synthetic brush. He absolutely loved the TOBS and while he initially had good luck with the TTO, he soon gave up on it saying that he thought it was not right for his (as he put it) looser skin which is already sensitive. I realize that the obvious solution is to either leave it be or offer him advice on how to improve his technique but I wanted to address the weight and efficiency of the razor before offering him 'advice' (that sounds funny coming from a 35 yr old) so I'm seriously considering buying him a PAA Bakelite Slant as a stocking stuffer this year. I think it's a good way to open up the conversation and I have hunch that he'll like the lighter plastic feel of the razor, which is more like the disposable carts he once used. I've also read that this light razor requires some pressure so it should be more forgiving of his undeveloped technique. The price is a factor too. If he doesn't like it, we laugh about it over some eggnog and life goes on. Any gents 55+ who might have similar skin type care to offer an opinion? I can still abandon this idea if there's something I'm missing here. Thanks very much in advance!
