It is a couple of nights before Halloween. The big box stores have had their Christmas stuff out for a few weeks.
We are entering a time of the year where we get up in the dark and come home in the dark. For me, having a home with some Christmas lights on as I find my way up the street brings some joy and happiness. I am a person who is concerned with the environment. I embraced led lighting early on. Unfortunately a total dismal failure as even at midnight these lights were at best dismal flickering grey.
Last year I found a solution that worked for me. I don't put up a whole heap of lights. Just one string across the house and a couple of bushes. I found some commercial c9 replacement lights that have 5 leds per light. Not inexpensive. Also you would think led lights would not burn out . . . not 100% right, ok call it failure . . . you will need to replace some.
In any case I just ordered some more bulbs that should arrive by November 15. As soon as they arrive I'm putting the lights up. So many years I'm putting them up as it snows.
So if you need to order suff . . .now is the time to do it.
