Trouble with an EJ DE89?

Hello folks,

My first DE razor was an EJ DE89 that I bought almost a year ago. Since then I've acquired many more razors and supplies and have become just a touch obsessed.

For the last 6 months or so I've mostly used a Merkur Progress, a Parker 26C, an Ikon SC 102 and a Razorock Wunderbar.
I've become very proficient at achieving DFS and BBS without nicks or irritation.

I recently took out my DE89 for the first time in 6 months and got a pretty terrible shave out of it. Nothing was different with the soap or lather or the blade. The only thing I could think of was that I've become accustomed to a much heavier razor and I was putting too much pressure. Or maybe the razor required more pressure to cut through my beard and there was more pulling than normal. It was especially irritating on the 3rd pass XTG which I don't experience from the other razors mentioned.

I'm very confused and would love any input.
