I've been trying to stick primarily to my SR the last week or so, but rely on my DE gear when I'm in a rush or need to heal a bit. My Canadian pre-war Tech was always my go-to for a mild, comfortable shave. Recently I picked up some Astra SP's because I finally ran out of a 100 pack of Persona Lab Preps, and WOW what a blade! How did I never try these over the 3 years I DE shaved? Put an Astra SP in a Pre-War Tech and you have yourself the most gentle and smooth shave, like buttah! (Especially when paired with THE FAT, YMMV)
Seriously though, any newcomers out there who can't shake the razor burn or just haven't found a nice comfortable razor/blade combo should give this a try. Astra SP 100 pack is $11.75 w amazon prime and a tech can be had at nearly any antique shop for around $10 (any equally mild razor will do). Give it a though, wishing you shaves as smooth as buttah!
