Not sure about the thread. Do you have any pictures of the underside of the base-plate or are there any markings on it at all, e.g. "Germany," "Solingen?" My guess is that it is European, probably German made, Apollo or perhaps very early Merkur.
In any event, you don't see that many that had the adjustable knuckle in bakelite in that good of a condition. Really nice find. I was surprised to see that Feather made a metal one.
