Well...reality doesn't match expectation with my first SE attempt. Tons of painful tug. Stopped pretty quickly and switched to my DE (Merkur sledghammer) and was able to achieve BBS this morning.
I procured a vintage razor from a fellow B&B member. It was stated to have been shave ready - I have no real way of confirming that. I also purchased a $50 strop from Shavesmith on ETSY - I really don't know if my stropping was good/bad/indifferent.
Man. Tempted to divest of both of those items at fire sale prices and live the rest of my life in peaceful bliss.
