It went very well! I was expecting my first few shaves to be horrible, but it went much better than expected. I still need to work on my technique, and there will be a bit of a learning curve, but I'm impressed.
I used a Derby blade, as everyone says they're fairly dull compared to other blades, but I liked it a lot. I got much more adventurous than I thought I would. I went with the grain, then went against the grain, without any major problems. My neck has always been a huge problem for me with shaving, which is one reason that brought me here.
I did give myself one good cut low on my neck under my Adam's apple, but that was my own fault going against the grain there...I won't try that again. All things considered though, I'm pretty happy with this razor.
I did have to dry my hands a few times though to get a better grip on the handle, but nothing crazy. I'm happy!
Just keep reminding me to not get crazy until I really know what I'm doing. ;)
First time using my DE86 today
