hey gents.
i finally threw a wobbler about the cost of modern razors and pulled the trigger on a DE.
however i seem to have been cursed with facial hair that is about %30 steel wire, (it seems to be a common kiwi man's issue). i find that while a cartridge would only give me 2 shaves with nothing but waher, fully lathered i am getting about one from a DE blade.
even shaving fresh out of the shower with mwf lathed up to bouncy peaks swirled on with a silver-tip brush, my blades will die during the second shave. Even the much hyped feathers seem to be imbued with the spirit of an Australian and fail half way through the second shave.
do any of you lads have a suggestion of a blade that is sharp enough to cut my beard, and survive it. i have been having luck with "Vokhod" Teflon, but they seem to start blunt and not degrade further.
preferably they would not be Gillette made (after years of being screwed by them i am eager to avoid them). i am hoping to find a blade that works for me, buy a couple thousand, and have shaving sorted till its time for me to enter retirement (about 45 years).
