Recommend me a badger knot!

Hello, just joined and venturing out of the shave clinic for the first time.
Would any of you gents recommend me a badger knot? I'm thinking 24mm knot with a loft not much higher than 50mm when set. I see mostly TGN mentioned followed by whipped dog or some of the ebay sellers. Anyone have any experience with Old Town knots? I'm considering anything higher grade than pure, heard good things about TGN finest fan.

Going to be playing on the lathe this weekend and thought I'd give making a stainless steel handle shot, perhaps in a goblet shape. Need to settle on a knot first to know how deep I want to drill into the handle.
