First shave with a Gem 1912, and a question

I've spent a couple of years developing reasonably good technique on a variety of DE razors, and now I'm about to branch out to this bad boy. I've studied up on the proper head angle and laid in some good coated stainless SE blades. My only question is: Should I set up a fully-stocked field hospital like Gus Fring did in "Breaking Bad"?
