I had this old Wostenholm & Son 'Pipe' razor that has a unique spine treatment—a two-sided bevel that runs half the length of the blade. The razor itself was in need of some help. Black, weathered scales, rusted blade, loose pins.
After the initial cleaning and light sanding revealed some beautiful color in the horn, I opted to reuse the original scales, despite some slight cracking and fraying the edges. The pitting was fairly extensive of the range around both sides of the pivot pin But I was lucky enough to remove most without loss of the maker stamp.
